The world of technologies is shifting to become mobile-first. Google started to promote progressive web apps (PWAs) in 2018. Since then, they’re becoming the face of the revolution and setting a new standard for web-application development for eCommerce.

This article will introduce you to Divante’s online training services for SAP Spartacus technology for SAP Commerce Cloud. This will help your company enter the PWA world with specialists experienced in PWA development.

Introduction to SAP Spartacus

SAP Customer Experience is recognized by Gartner as a leader in digital eCommerce. SAP certainly tries to be up to date with the latest trends in the eCommerce world. That’s why they’ve decided to equip its flagship product, which is SAP Commerce Cloud, with PWAs.

With PWAs, SAP was able to follow the modern standard of web development and add to its existing product. This native-app experience includes home screen installation, push notifications, offline mode, and client-side caching.

To do this, in 2017, SAP approached Divante, a global leader in eCommerce-oriented PWAs. Soon, both teams started working together on a revolutionary solution. This solution was named Spartacus and it’s a lean, Angular-based JavaScript storefront for SAP Commerce Cloud. It makes use of PWAs.

Since then, Divante, as a core contributor to SAP Spartacus, has launched a variety of services. These services range from training through auditing to migration and expert leasing.

Why should you do SAP Spartacus training with Divante?

  1. The trainer

In November 2019, Mateusz Ostafil joined Divante to become a Spartacus trainer and Technology Evangelist. He has wide experience as a teacher and has mentored over 150 people to become software developers from scratch. Besides working on Spartacus training, he’s a team leader in many Spartacus implementations. In his role as a Technology Evangelist, he has written eBooks and recorded videos about the subject. That combination of different skills and experiences makes Mateusz the perfect choice to train your company.

  2.  The latest version of SAP Spartacus

When looking for SAP Spartacus training, it’s important to know that this framework is constantly developing. We always base our online course on the latest Spartacus version, which is currently Spartacus 4.0. Each update includes new features and sometimes they’re crucial from the business point of view. That’s why it’s good to make sure that your trainer is aware of them. One of the latest updates is the long-awaited Spartacus 3.0 with its B2B features. If you want to learn more about what this version has brought us from the B2B point of view, read the article written by Mateusz Ostafil.

  3. The way of teaching

Mateusz, with years of experience in education, knows how to adjust the right training method to the topic and the technology. Our online course was designed to make you become proficient in creating storefronts for SAP Commerce Cloud and gain insights into architectural details in three weeks. Moreover, we split all of the material into three modules that cover everything. This ranges from configuration, styling, and simple enhancements to custom CMS components, connecting different data sources and using advanced features. Of course, the basic setup of Spartacus is also included.

This learning framework will have you spend 24 hours with a trainer and 12 hours on individual work. During training, participants will write approximately 2,300 lines of code, add 15 custom features, and solve 20 exercises. Besides that, each block consists of an interactive presentation, live coding, and a Q&A session.
  4. Training tailored to your needs

Our standard online training is dedicated to developers, architects, and IT consultants. Since those three groups may have different expectations from the course, before each session, we always ask what participants want to achieve with the training. This allows us to provide them with more relevant content and fit the agenda to their specific needs. We recommend our participants check our prerequisites before attending the standard training because our program requires knowledge of specific technologies. Of course, IT consultants can join the training as auditors.

As we wrote at the beginning of this article, Spartacus is an Angular-based storefront. This means that you need to have at least the solid basics of Angular to start our training. If you have an idea and want a customized course, reach out to us. We can prepare tailor-made training to suit your company’s needs. Currently, we only organize corporate training.

For those who don’t have experience with Angular and want to learn more about it, we’re currently preparing a new training course. This new course will allow you to get acquainted with the necessary knowledge about this framework and then start learning SAP Spartacus with us.
